Hudl Secures $72.5M in Funding

Hudl, a Lincoln, Neb.-based sports video analysis platform, secured $72.5m in funding.

The round was led by Accel Partners and Nelnet with participation from Jeff Raikes, former CEO of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand its offering and build the team.

Founded by David Graff, Brian Kaiser and John Wirtz in 2006, Hudl provides coaches and athletes with video distribution, play diagrams, individual analysis etc., all available online. It allows coaches to share videos, notes and scouting reports with other coaches and players via iOS and Android apps.

The platform is used by more than 3.5 million professional, college and amateur athletes in 40 countries.
