Clarkson Eyecare Receives Growth Investment from FFL

Clarkson Eyecare, Inc., a St. Louis-based eye care provider, received a growth investment from FFL, a private equity firm focused on middle market companies.

The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate its growth both organically and through strategic acquisitions of practices.

Founded in 1979 by Dr. Lawrence “Larry” Jehling, and led by Anthony Nunn, President and CEO, and Dr. Jim Wachter Chief Medical Officer, Clarkson Eyecare is a large optometry chain in the Midwest, with 63 locations in Missouri and Southern Illinois, and 19 locations in Ohio and Northern Kentucky.
The company, which offers ophthalmological and LASIK services in two surgery centers, has also developed its own proprietary software platform that electronically manages appointment scheduling, insurance verification, billing, and inventory levels.
