BroadbandTV Acquires YoBoHo

BBTV_LogoBroadbandTV (BBTV), a Vancouver, British Colombia-based YouTube entertainment network, acquired Mumbai, India-based YoBoHo, which owns and operates HooplaKidz, a YouTube Kids and Family network, as well as 27 owned and operated channels in the vertical.

The amount of the transaction was not disclosed. European entertainment network RTL Group provided funding for the acquisition.

HooplaKidz joined other BBTV brands including TGN, a gaming network on YouTube; Opposition, a hip-hop music network; and female lifestyle brand Kandesa. Post transaction, BBTV’s average monthly views will be over four billion per month, reaching around 50 billion views per year.  The company is also making a significant investment in YoBoHo to further expand its library of original content, which comprises over 8,000 videos in the kids vertical, broaden its international presence, and further diversify its revenue streams.

All 55 YoBoHo employees, led by Hitendra Merchant, Founder & CEO, will join BBTV, including producers, writers, marketers, technology and mobile experts, and a business development team.
