triphoboTripHobo, a Pune, India-based platform for discovering user-generated travel itineraries, raised $3m in Series B funding.

The round, which followed a Series-A round closed in July 2014, was led by Kalaari Capital and Mayfield.

The company intends to use the funds to invest in R&D and new talent, to scale content and technology integration with the travel ecosystem.

Co-founded by Praveen Kumar, CEO, Saket Newaskar, CTO, and Karthik Ramachandra, COO, Triphobo is a visual algorithmic trip planner which allows users to choose where they want to travel, suggests attractions, helps plan each trip day in detail and make bookings. At the backend, it runs an algorithm to optimize the trip taking into account travel distances, open/ close timings, preferred mode of transportation, etc.
