SignalFx Raises $20M in Series B Round of Funding

fxSignalFx, (previously known as SignalFuse), a San Mateo, Cailf.-based provider of advanced monitoring platform for applications and infrastructure data, raised $20m in Series B round of funding.

The round was led by CRV with participation from existing investor Andreessen Horowitz. In conjunction with the funding, Devdutt Yellurkar, general partner at CRV, joined SignalFx’ board.

The company, which has now raised $28.5m in funding to date, intends to use the capital to expand sales and marketing and to accelerate R&D activities.

Co-founded by CEO Karthik Rau and CTO Phillip Liu, SignalFx provides a SaaS-based monitoring platform powered by streaming and historical analytics technology that delivers interactive, system-wide view of application and infrastructure data at any scale.
SignalFx aims to enable development and operations teams to shift from component-level monitoring to detecting aggregate patterns and anomalies across their distributed applications in real-time. Product teams can model and correlate key application and business metrics against underlying infrastructure behavior to answer critical questions about operations.
It is used by large and small companies including Yelp, Tapjoy, Symphony Commerce and Chairish.
