Rover.com, a Seattle, WA-based network connecting dog owners with sitters, raised $25m in funding.
The round was led by Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV), with participation from existing investors Foundry Group, Madrona Venture Group, Menlo Ventures, and Petco. In conjunction with the funding, David Yuan, TCV, will join Rover.com’s board along with Jeremy Wacksman, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management at Zillow.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations.
Led by Aaron Easterly, CEO, Rover.com connects dog owners with a nationwide network of dog sitters for in-home boarding, pet sitting, dog walking, and day care. In addition to connecting pet owners with sitters, the platform offers complimentary premium insurance for all services booked through Rover, access to 24/7 vet consultation, mobile apps, photo sharing, videos of stay highlights, and optional sitter background checks.
To date, Rover has connected dog owners to more than 40,000 sitters in the United States in 10,000 cities.
The company currently has 80 full-time employees.
