RockYou, a San Francisco, CA-based interactive media company, raised $23m in funding.
The round was led by Columbia Capital.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to grow and diversify its audience through partnerships with developers of established games and to further expand its mobile offerings.
Founded in 2005 and led by Lisa Marino, CEO, RockYou provides an in-game video advertising platform that currently delivers over 1 billion impressions a month. Over the past 12 months, the company has expanded its games portfolio to include hits acquired from Disney (Kitchen Scramble, Words of Wonder, City Girl, Gardens of Time) and Kabam (the Facebook and web versions of Kingdoms of Camelot and Dragons of Atlantis).
