PageCloud, an Ottawa, Canada-based provider of a website creation app, raised a $2.2m in seed funding.
Backers included MaRS IAF, Export Development Canada, and angels Tobias Lutke and Sarah Imbach.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to develop the platform.
Led by Craig Fitzpatrick, CEO and founder, PageCloud is advancing a browser-based professional-grade website creation tool that runs in the cloud. From any browser, users can login and make spot edits or create a new page live in real-time. No plugins are required.
The platform is expected to launch in 2015.
