Meerkat (formerly known as Yevvo), a San Francisco, CA-based provider of a live streaming video app, closed a $12m Series B funding.
The round, which reportedly valued Meerkat at $52m post-money, was led by Greylock Partners with participation from unnamed angel investors.
Co-founded by Ben Rubin, Roi Tirosh, and Itai Danino, Meerkat allows users to Meerkat allows users to stream live video from their phone to all of their Twitter followers at once. The app is currently available in beta for iPhone and iPod touch (download it here).
The company behind the app is called Life On Air, Inc.
