A Plus, a Silicon Valley-based digital media company, raised $3.5m in venture capital funding.
Backers included Sound Ventures, Venture 51, Social Starts, and other angel investors.
Co-founded by Ashton Kutcher, chairman of the board. Evan Beard, chief executive officer, and Kendall Dabaghi, president, A Plus operates a viral content website that features stories “that make a difference and create positive change“. It has an emphasis on mobile-first design, media-rich content and short, direct text.
The site has an audience of approximately 50 million monthly visitors.
