Sikka Software, a Milpitas, Calif.-based provider of a retail healthcare cloud platform, raised a $5.5m Series B funding.
The round was led by Sierra Ventures with participation from Series A investor ATA Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Mark Fernandes, Managing Director of Sierra Ventures, will join Sikka Software’s Board of Directors.
The company intends to use the funds to scale sales and marketing and continue its growth across key practice areas.
Founded in 2011 and led by Vijay Sikka, CEO, Sikka provides the Sikka Platform Cloud which is connected to over 400 combinations of practice management and financial systems covering over 96% of the dental, veterinary, audiology and optometry markets and provides an application programming interface (API) for people to build apps on.
The company currently has over 13,500 installations.
