Glencoe Software Inc., a Seattle, WA-based provider of an image data management platform for the research, biopharma and publication industries, completed its $800k seed funding round.
Backers included TAGS (TIE Angels Group Seattle), several Seattle area angel investors, and Friends and Family.
The company intends to use the funds for the development of a sales and marketing team and increased product development.
Led by Dr. Jason Swedlow, CEO, Glencoe Software provides OMERO Data Management Engine and Bio-Formats data access tool to over 1000 institutions worldwide under open source licenses. Since 2005, the company has provided commercially licensed installations of the software platform. It now aims to bring its image data management and analysis products to the digital pathology market.
