Dering Hall, a NYC-based online portal for high-end home furnishings, raised $2.5m in Series A funding.
Backers included Hearst Magazines, Lerer Hippeau Ventures and SoftBank Capital.
The company intends to use the funds for the continued expansion of the team and additional investment in technology to further optimize the curated online shopping experience for professionals and consumers. In addition to the round, Dering Hall has acquired the assets of Detroit-based start-up Doodle Home, a B2B software platform specialized in the home and interior design industry, for an undisclosed amount. As a result of this transaction, Jennifer Gilbert, Founder of Doodle Home, will join Dering Hall’s Board of Directors.
Led by Peter Sallick, CEO, Dering Hall provides a platform for the luxury design industry that allows design professionals to contact and buy directly from more than 500 high-end home furnishing showrooms, artisans, and brands.
