Ravello Systems Receives $28M in Funding

Ravello-SystemsRavello Systems Inc., a Palo Alto, CA-based nested virtualization software company, received $28m in funding.

The round, which brought total capital raised to date to $54m, was led by Qualcomm Ventures and SanDisk Ventures with participation from­ Sequoia Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, Norwest Venture Partners and Vintage Investment Partners.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its marketing and sales operations ­both within the US as well as internationally.

Founded in 2011 by Rami Tamir and Benny Schnaider, Ravello Systems provides nested virtualization software which enables enterprises to recreate their data center environments in the public cloud, with the ability to run VMware workloads, Android emulators and even entire OpenStack labs on AWS or Google Cloud.
Launched globally in August 2013, the product has been adopted by a wide variety of enterprises ranging from the Fortune 500 to mid­size and smaller companies.
