Querium Corporation, an Austin, Texas-based provider of a mobile learning software platform that delivers smart diagnostics and personalized, bite-sized lessons, raised $800k Series A3 round of funding.
Backers included ICG Ventures as well as additional private investors.
The company intends to use the funds to invest in product development and support its sales and marketing activities.
Founded in January 2013 by Kent Fuka, CEO, Querium provides patent-pending, Artificial Intelligence-based StepWise virtual tutor technology that acts as either a tutor or a grading assistant for solving STEM problems. For tutoring, the platform engine allows students to show their work, intervening immediately when they make mistakes and generating hints when they get stuck. It features handwriting recognition technology to give students a natural experience similar to writing on paper. For grading assistant, the engine provides partial credit and data analysis of students’ problem-solving ability.
