Pavegen Raises over $1M

pavegenPavegen, a London, UK-based clean-technology startup, completed an overall funding of over $1m.

Backers included Ricky Husani, CEO of United Sustainable Developments India, Josh Matthews, Managing Partner at Maseco Private Wealth, and Jean Gomm, Founding Co-Chair of the Harvard Business School Angels London Chapter.

The company intends to use the funds to scale sales and streamline the current tile, aiming to equate the cost of the tiles to high-standard flooring solutions.

Founded in 2009, Pavegen is a clean-technology company that manufactures and develops flooring tiles, converting wasted kinetic energy from footfall into renewable electricity. The first prototype was developed as part of Laurence Kemball-Cook’s final year university project in 2009. Now, the company has completed installations within transport, retail, schools and offices in over 20 different countries across 3 continents and has distributors in 9 countries.
Led by CEO and Founder Laurence Kemball-Cook and Chief Technical Officer Craig Webster, Pavegen has 25-strong team of designers, engineers, and technicians.
It aims to raise a larger Series B raise in 2015.
