Instacart Raises $210M in Series C Funding

instacartAccording to an SEC filing, Instacart, a San Francisco, CA-based on-demand grocery service, raised $210m in a targeted $220m funding round.

The names of the backers were not listed in the document.

Led by former Amazon executive Apoorva Mehta, CEO, Instacart provides a same-day grocery delivery service that allows consumers to buy from their favorite local stores via iPhone, iPad or the Web. The company, which had received $44m in Series B funding (read here) and $8.5m in Series A (read here), is hiring people in several areas (read here).
