CodeHS Raises $1.75M in Funding

codehsCodeHS, a San Francisco, CA-based site for students to learn coding, raised $1.75m in funding.

Backers included Learn Capital, NewSchools Ventures, Kapor Capital, Chmod, the Stanford-StartX Fund, Seven Peaks Ventures, and other angel investors.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to hire new people and continue to develop the platform.

Co-founder by Zach Galant and Jeremy Keeshin, CodeHS operates a platform to allow students to learn programming and computer science principles. It is built for complete beginners, and they learn by watching videos, working in the browser, and then getting help and feedback from real people who know the material.
The community is made up of students, teachers, and tutors all over the world.
The company is currently looking for students and teachers to pilot a web-based AP Computer Science Java course online.
