strap-logo-web-largeStrap, a Cincinnati, Ohio-based software and analytics platform for wearable technology, raised $1.25m in seed funding.

The round was led by CincyTech with participation from Mercury Fund, Vine Street Ventures, Danmar Capital, Hyde Park Venture Partners, and New Coast Ventures and angels including Wendy S. Lea.

The company intends to use the funds to grow through product development while increasing partnerships with developers, enterprises and brands.

Founded in early 2014 by CEO Steve Caldwell, Patrick Henshaw, and Joey Brennan, Strap provides developers, enterprises and brands with a software and analytics platform for wearable applications that runs on smart wearable devices, offering data insights about users and application performance.
Strap Metrics allows users to view and optimize the sensory data that wearables capture. The company also offers Strap Kit, a toolkit that allows developers to write their wearable application once, in JavaScript, and deploy it across multiple platforms, with Strap Metrics.
It is available for Pebble, Android Wear and Glass, and will soon add support for Tizen and Apple Watch.

The company is a 2014 graduate of The Brandery (Cincinnati, Ohio).
