Qolsys, a San Jose, Calif.-based provider of residential security and home control solutions, secured a strategic investment from Tyco Security Products, part of Tyco, a pure-play fire protection and security company.
Founded in 2010 and led by CEO Dave Pulling, Qolsys provides the IQ Panel, which leverages an Android operating system, an features a 7” Touchscreen with a built-in panel camera, 6 built-in wireless radios with no external antennas, Z-Wave for home control devices, multiple languages, two-way voice, siren, an SD Card slot, 24-hour lithium-ion battery, and interactive services powered by Alarm.com.
With this investment, Qolsys will accelerate the development of its residential security and Internet of Things (IoT) platform.
The Qolsys product line will be immediately available to established Tyco Security Products channels in North America. The company also aims to expand every aspect of the organization, including hardware and software development, product development, testing, cloud services, sales and marketing, etc. The product roadmap and new features will be accelerated, as well as increased dealer resources and channel development and support.
