musx (myoo-ziks), a Washington, D.C.-based music sharing and discovery app, raised over €500k in funding.
Co-founded by John Reardon and Eddie Sniezek, musx is an iOS application for sharing music and discovering recommendations from friends and hand-picked sources. It sources YouTube and SoundCloud’s open libraries, providing access to music ranging from the most popular music videos of yesterday to yet-to-be discovered independent artists and remixes. The solution also provides a way for artists, venues, and bloggers to connect with fans.
The company, which has just launched version 2.0 of their app, intends to use the funds to expand to web and Android platforms while working on new features for version 2.1 (and beyond) of its app.
In addition to the funding, music industry veteran Michael McDonald joined the board of Musx.
