Datto, a global provider of hybrid cloud-based backup, disaster recovery (BDR) and business continuity solutions backed by General Catalyst Partners, acquired Backupify, a Cambridge, Mass.-based provider of cloud-to-cloud backup and recovery solutions for software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications.
The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 2008 and led by Rob May, CEO, Backupify provides cloud-to-cloud backup and recovery solutions for Software as a Service (SaaS) applications. It is the automated data protection solution for the most popular online services including Salesforce, Google Apps, Smartsheet, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Following the deal, Datto and Backupify will now offer comprehensive options for backup, disaster recovery and business continuity for companies of all sizes, ranging from small- to medium-sized businesses to large enterprises.
