Blab, a Seattle, WA-based provider of a social intelligence platform that predicts online trending conversations, raised $8.8m as part of an $11.6m Series B funding round.
The round was led by Blue Focus Communications Group Co. and Shoreline Venture Management with participation from Operative Capital. Blue Focus and Shoreline Venture Management have also joined Blab’s board of directors.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate product development and sales and marketing initiatives.

Similar to how Google indexes information and Facebook maps social connections, Blab allows brands to discover the contextual landscape within which their audiences are participating, predict the dynamic path of conversations and exactly when, where, and how to engage.
Its conversation graph changes surfaces the trends, topics and media in real time.
Blab is used by Fortune 1000 companies and licensed by agencies including Mindshare, Horizon Media, and Razorfish.
