Shiftgig, a Chicago, IL-based online community for the service industry, secured $10m in its first institutional financing.
The round was led by The Garland Funds with participation from KGC Capital, Chicago Ventures, DRW Ventures, Firestarter Fund, and Corazon Capital.
The company intends to use the funds for expansion of technology, product and team.
Co-founded in 2011 by Eddie Lou, CEO, Jeff Pieta, President, and Sean Casey, CTO, Shiftgig allows members to connect with business to access jobs and content in the restaurant, nightlife, hotel, and retail verticals.
It counts over 1,050,000 registered members and 25,000 businesses.
The company recently added Jill Erickson, Chief Revenue Officer, Travis Haight, VP of Service Delivery, Dan Miller, VP of Talent; and Michael Yoch, VP of Product.
