Plumwise Raises $228K in Seed Funding

plumwisePlumwise, a Chicago, IL-based online recommendation and review website, raised $228K in seed funding.

The company plans to use the funds to to add staff, grow membership, and expand on existing product offerings.

Co-Founded in 2013 by Alex Buck and Meagan Newman, Plumwise is a selective online community that allows members to share recommendations for neighborhood service providers. Membership is free, and for the time being, includes the premiere concierge service. Businesses can become service providers on the website by receiving a recommendation from a member, and are then vetted by curators.

The company recently joined 1871.
