Altair Semiconductor, a Hod Hasharon, Israel-based developer of high-performance, single-mode LTE chipsets, received a venture capital investment from SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ:SNDK)’s SanDisk Ventures.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
The company intends to use the funds to advance its technologies.
Led by Oded Melamed, co-founder and chief executive officer, Altair provides products that bring 4G LTE Internet connectivity to tablets, netbooks, USB dongles, portable hotspots, fixed routers and modems, machine-to-machine applications and other (IoT) devices.
Over 30 connected device manufacturers currently use its chips to power millions of end-user devices deployed commercially on 4G LTE networks around the world.
