Helsinki, Finland -based private equity firm VersoVentures is launching a new fund that invests in corporate spin-offs.
The fund, which has a final target of up to €75m, held the first close at €50m.
Investors include European Investment Fund (EIF), FoF Growth II, Ilmarinen Mutual Pension Insurance Company, Finnish Industry Investment Ltd and AI-Partners Ltd.
Led by Anssi Kariola, Managing Partner, VersoVentures focuses on investing in businesses or technologies spun off from larger corporations. The fund creates new independent growth companies across several industrial segments by investing in businesses with revenue in the range of €1-30m.
