SmartFocus Acquires Content Savvy

Content Savvy, an Amherst, NY-based provider of a content analytics platform, has been acquired by SmartFocus.

The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.

Led by founder and CEO Rohini Srihari, who will be joining SmartFocus as Chief Scientist,  Content Savvy offers a cloud-based content enrichment and analytics platform – in multiple languages, across multiple industries, to help organizations leverage their own data and external sources such as social media, news, and industry publications for real-time customer engagement.

It was a portfolio company of Crestlight Investment.

Led by CEO Rob Mullen, SmartFocus provides an Internet of Things solution for brands, which includes:
– beacon technology that knows when a customer visits a physical store;
– real-time predictive recommendations generated at the precise moment they open an email; and
– insights that use smart analysis of Big Data to generate a personal experience.
It is used by global brands such as French Connection, Speedo and Mercedes-Benz.
