miDrive Closes £2M Series A Funding

midrivemiDrive, a Folkestone, UK-based student driver startup, closed £2m Series A funding.

Backers included MBM Capital Partners and Holiday Extras.

The company, which has now raised £3m in total, intends to use the funds to expand its current ­team of ten people, opening a second office in London and investing in growth, both in the UK and internationally.

Led by Scott Taylor, CEO, and recently hired Eva Binda, Head of Marketing, miDrive provides Android and iOS apps for learner drivers to improve their driving skills, find qualified driving instructors and pass their driving tests saving on their lesson expenses. In addition, it gives learner drivers access to a library of articles and videos and allows them to track their drives.
The platform also enables driving instructors to attract new customers.
miDrive’s currently has more than 15,000 learners and 2,400 instructors.
