Jongla, a Helsinki, Finland-based cross-platform instant messaging app, closed a €3.4m round of funding.
Backers included JSH Capital Oy, Ingman Finance Oy, Kontino Invest Oy and Holdington Ltd Oy.
The company, which has raised €7.3m to date, intends to use the funds to scale the business globally, develop new innovations, and grow the team.
Led by Riku Salminen, CEO, Jongla provides an IM app featuring interactive stickers, push-to-talk messaging, photo & video sharing, YouTube integration, etc.
Just last month, the company launched “Channels”, which allows brands and celebrities to engage with fans in real-time on smartphone. Each brands is able to create a new multimedia channel and start interacting with fans and customers. Users can follow and access exclusive new content.
Jongla is available to download for free from the App Store, Google Play, Windows Phone Store and Firefox Marketplace.
