Harvest Power Raises $20M in Financing

HarvestHarvest Power Inc., a Waltham, MA-based provider of a platform that turns organic waste into clean energy and natural soils, fertilizers and mulches, raised $20m in financing.

Backers included True North Venture Partners (Chicago, IL), Industry Ventures (San Francisco, CA), and Generation Investment Management (London, UK).

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate development of new opportunities in the clean energy space with its anaerobic digestion technologies, as well as grow its bulk and consumer organics businesses.

Founded in 2008 by Paul Sellew, and led by Kathleen Ligocki, CEO, and Michael Ahearn, new Chairman of the Board, Harvest Power enables communities across North America to better manage and beneficially re-use their organic waste through the production of renewable energy, soils, mulches and natural fertilizers.
