Watchfinder Receives $10M Equity Investment

wfcoWatchfinder, a UK-based pre-owned watch resale marketplace, received a $10m (approximately £6.18m) equity investment.

Backers included Beringea and Piton Capital.

The company intends to use the funds to broaden its inventory and offering of luxury timepieces, roll out a multimedia marketing campaign, further fund the watch servicing centre, as well as provide limited liquidity for existing shareholders.

Founded in 2002 and led by Stuart Hennell, CEO, Watchfinder operates a marketplace for pre-owned luxury watches, and has sold over £120m in brands such as Rolex, Cartier, Tag Heuer, Breitling, Omega, and Patek Philippe, as well as rare and vintage models.
In addition to its marketplace, the company has opened a flagship boutique in the Royal Exchange, a luxury shopping centre located near the Bank of England.
It also operates a certified servicing center in Maidstone.
