Odyssey Airlines Limited, a UK-based business class airline venture that aims to be the first and only airline to operate non-stop transatlantic services from London City Airport, received £1.06m in equity crowdfunding.
231 backers acquired a 5.3% stake in the company via Crowdcube.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate development in the first half of 2015.
Adam Scott, Founder & CEO, Odyssey Airlines aims to provide premium class travel, from the heart of London (London City Airport) to destinations in North America, the Middle East, and further afield in Europe, for the time conscious traveller offering a service to reduce time to airport and signing a purchase agreement to acquire 10 Bombardier CS100 aircraft, designing an innovative seat configuration and focusing on high-traffic destinations (New York, Toronto, Washington, Boston, Chicago, certain cities in the Middle East, and further afield in Europe).
