Jason Wu, a New York-based fashion brand, has received an equity investment of undisclosed amount.
InterLuxe, a new platform that invests in emerging fashion and luxury brands launched by New York-based private equity firm Lee Equity Partners and fashion industry veterans Allen Questrom, Gary Wassner, and Melissa Beste, committed the money.
The company intends to use the proceeds to expand the collection and elevate the Jason Wu brand in the U.S. and abroad.
Chief Creative Officer of the brand is Jason Wu, who is viewed as a leading talent in the next generation of American designers. He is known for designing dresses for high profile clients, including Michelle Obama.
Mr. Wu also currently serves as Artistic Director of womenswear for Hugo Boss AG.
In the transaction, Jones Day and Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP served as legal advisors to InterLuxe and Lee Equity. StoneCastle Securities, LLC served as exclusive placement agent to InterLuxe. Troutman Sanders LLP served as legal advisor to Jason Wu.
