EVCA Publishes Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) Statistics 2013 Report

evcaThe European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (EVCA) published its Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) Statistics 2013 report, focused on the region’s private equity activity.

The document mainly shows two trends: on one hand, fundraising and investment activity fell in comparison to 2012. Total private equity investments amounted to €783m in 2013, down 22% from 2012. Whilst buyouts continued to provide for the majority of capital invested, growth capital investments increased by 53% since 2012 to €259m.
Fundraising totaled €433m in 2013, a decrease of 37% compared to 2012

On the other hand, 2013 was a year of strong exit activity in CEE region (€741m), which was not dominated by one or two large transactions. Instead, 88 companies were exited, the highest number in the past seven years.
