GNS3 Raises over $600K on Tilt Open

gns3GNS3, a Calgary, Alberta, Canada- and Sunnyvale, CA-based developer of virtual network design and testing software, raised over $600K on the crowdfunding platform Tilt Open.

13,000 contributors from more than 80 countries participated in the campaign.

The company intends to use the funds to further develop the GNS3 software, adding additional features including paid support and cloud processing.

Led by Stephen Guppy, CEO and Co-Founder, GNS3 provides software that offers virtual testing, design and configuration of virtual networks. It runs on traditional PC hardware and may be used on multiple operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and MacOS X.
Although the public beta for GNS3 released in July, the full version of the software is set to launch this October. It is already used by organizations such as Walmart, Exxon, Twitter, AT&T, NASA and the US Department of Defense.
The company is also developing an online portal where users can share product reviews, vendors can promote products and services, co-workers can collaborate and network professionals can continue to evolve and train with the software.
