Famo.us Secures $25M in Series B Funding

Famo.us, a San Francisco, CA-based operator of a JavaScript development framework, secured $25m in Series B funding.

The round was led by Insight Ventures and Javelin Venture Partners. In conjunction with the funding, Jerry Murdock of Insight Ventures joined Famo.us’ board.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to develop its platform adding new features, widgets, templates and APIs.

Started in 2011 and led by Steve Newcomb, Famo.us is a JavaScript framework that enables developers to build cross-platform apps. Its framework provides an open source 3D layout platform integrated with a 3D physics-based animation engine that can render to DOM, Canvas, or WebGL.
