VidAngel Raises $600K in Seed Funding

vidangel_logoVidAngel, a Salt Lake City, Utah-based website and web app that allows users to stream movies & watch YouTube with no violence or bad words, raised $600k in seed funding.

Backers included Alta Ventures, Kickstart Seed Fund and Stonewall Capital.

Led by Neal Harmon, CEO, VidAngel allows movie and video fans to filter out offensive content.
Powered by a volunteer community of fans of family-friendly video, who tag potentially offensive swearing, sex and violence in movies, TV shows and YouTube videos, VidAngel provides a customizable filter so viewers control what they see and hear based on their personal values and content preferences.
Viewers choose exactly what they want to filter, meaning turn off just F-words, or just one nude scene, or any of thousands of configurations.
