UNYQ Design Completes $1.05M First Funding

UNYQ_Press_Kit_May_2014UNYQ Design, Inc., a San Francisco, California and Seville, Spain-based startup that aims to turn prosthetics into fashion accessories, completed a $1.05m first funding.

Backers included strategic and individual investors in the United States, Europe and Asia.

Led by Eythor Bender, co-founder and CEO, UNYQ uses 3D printers to allow amputees to design customized covers for prosthetic legs. Customers can choose from an existing product line of more than 30 models or design their own, each custom fitted and define their signature style.

The company launched its e-commerce site in May and completed its funding round six weeks later.
