Moscow-based venture capital firm Runa Capital announced a first closing for its new $200m fund.
The amount of the closing was not disclosed.
Runa Capital II will continue to invest in the tech sector, with focus on cloud computing, hosted services, virtualization, complex software and IT-solutions for fintech, education, healthcare and social sectors. The geographical focus of the fund will shift more deeply to Central, Eastern and Western European region, also focusing on Turkey, Israel markets and the US and APAC regions.
Founded in 2010, Runa Capital has invested in Thinkgrid (acquired by ColtTelecom), StopTheHacker (acquired by CloudFlare), Capptain (acquired by Microsoft), NGINX, Ecwid, Jelastic, LinguaLeo, Zopa and drchrono.
The firm is led by Serguei Beloussov, Ilya Zubarev, Dmitry Chikhachev and Andre Bliznyuk.
