Microsoft Acquires SyntaxTree

SyntaxTree, the France-based company behind UnityVS for Visual Studio, has been acquired by Microsoft (MSFT).

The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.

UnityVS enables Unity developers to author, browse and debug the code for their applications and features code snippets, wizards, tool windows such as the Unity project explorer.

With the acquisition, Microsoft will integrate this support for Unity into Visual Studio, and to continue to push forward Visual Studio’s support for game developers. The company will also make the existing UnityVS plugin available for free on its download site shortly.
