Kontakt.io, a Kraków, Poland-based beacon hardware and software platform, raised $2m in funding.
Venture capital firm Sunstone Capital provided the capital. In conjunction with the deal, Dr. Max Niederhofer, a general partner at Sunstone Capital, joined Kontakt.io’s board of directors.
Led by Szymon Niemczura, co-founder and CEO, Kontakt.io is building a comprehensive beacon platform, with the intent of supporting micro-location applications and solutions using iBeacon, Android, and Bluetooth Smart technologies.
The company now serves lighthouse customers such as Google, Facebook, Apple, SAP, Siemens, and thousands of others across the globe.
