Charles River Ventures Closes Fund XVI at $393M

crvVenture capital firm Charles River Ventures has closed its latest fund at $393M.

Founded in 1970, Charles River Ventures is an early-stage venture capital fund that takes a value-added, hands-on approach to support its portfolio companies.

According to a filing with the S.E.C. (read here), Charles River Partnership XVI, LP, has been supported by 48 partners.

Based in Menlo Park, CA, and Cambridge, MA, Charles River Ventures is one of the nation’s oldest early-stage venture capital firms and focuses on early-stage investments in technology and new media companies with occasional Seed or Series B rounds.
It had closed its 15th fund in 2012 (read here).
