CardCash.com, a Brick, NJ-based independent marketplace for secondary gift cards, acquired the assets of Plastic Jungle, formerly a San Mateo, Calif.-based company backed by more than $25m in venture capital.
The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.
As part of the deal, CardCash.com will acquire Plastic Jungle’s technology infrastructure, business partnerships and domain name, PlasticJungle.com.
Founded in 2008 and led by CEO Elliot Bohm, CardCash.com offers a selection of discounted gift cards online.
The company, which generated sales of $56m in 2013, compared with just $16m in 2012, expects to complete the full transfer of services within two months.
It raised $6m in equity funding from Guggenheim Partners in November 2013 (read here). In December, I interviewed Jeremy Levi, the Director of Marketing (read here).
