Busbud Closes $9M Series A Funding

busbudBusbud, a Montreal, Quebec, Canada-based worldwide bus travel booking platform, closed a $9m Series A funding round.

The round was co-led by OMERS Ventures and Revolution Ventures. iNovia Capital and Real Ventures, who co-led an initial $1.2m seed round in May 2013, are also participating. In conjunction with the funding, Kevin Kimsa, Managing Director at OMERS Ventures, and David Golden, Managing Partner at Revolution Ventures, joined the company’s board. Carl Sparks, former CEO of Travelocity, and Luc Levesque, VP of SEO at TripAdvisor / Expedia, are joining the board of advisors.

Led by LP Maurice, CEO, Mike Gradek, CTO, and Frederic Thouin, Chief Analytics Officer, Busbud.com allows travelers to search, compare and book bus trips online at a global level by leveraging the ground networks of nearly 1,500 bus companies around the world, providing coach scheduling information and booking options for over 10,460 cities in 89 countries, in 10 languages and 21 currencies.
