BitFury Creates Seed Fund

bitfury-logo-bw-transBitFury Group, a San Francisco, CA and Amsterdam, the Netherlandsw-based Bitcoin infrastructure provider, is launching a seed investment fund.

BitFury Capital will leverage the company’s position in bitcoin and cryptocurrency infrastructure to accelerate other parts of the ecosystem through strategic partnerships, and expansion into adjacent business opportunities.

The fund will be a subsidiary of the BitFury Group, and will focus on seeding early-stage funding together with external partners also delivering knowledge and resources from the group to accelerate startups, and create synergies.
It will also have the ability to participate in later-stage rounds.

Founded in 2011 and led by Valery Vavilov, CEO, BitFury Group is a large provider of semiconductors, servers and datacenter solutions to the bitcoin and cryptocurrency industry. It has computing centers across Finland, Iceland and the Republic of Georgia. The company just raised $20m in funding itself in June 2014 (read here).
