Abodo, a Madison, WI-based online rental marketplace, closed $1.25m in Series A financing.
The round was led by American Family Ventures with participation from 4490 Ventures and Lakewest Venture Partners.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand its reach beyond Madison, Milwaukee, Columbus, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, and Raleigh-Durham into 25 additional markets in the coming year.
Co-founded and led by CEO Alec Slocum, Chad Aldous and Adam Olien and newly appointed vice president of Marketing Michael Taus, Abodo operates an online rental marketplace which focuses on building a massive presence in targeted markets to ensure a locally tailored search experience for renters.
The company recently launched the ABODO Apartment Search iPhone app, which is available for free download on iTunes. An Android app is expected in the near future.
