Super Evil Megacorp Raises $11.6M in Funding

superevilAccording to a blog post, Super Evil Megacorp, a San Mateo, Calif.-based games developer, raised $11.6m in funding.

The round was led by General Catalyst with participation from Raine Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Adam Valkin (Managing Director, General Catalyst) joined the board. They joined Signia Venture Partners, CrossCut Ventures, Initial Capital, ZhenFund, and a group of angel investors.

The company, which has now raised more than $15m to date, intends to use the funds to further expand and pursue its vision to create games for tablets are primary devices.

Led by CEO Bo Daly, and new COO & Executive Director Kristian Segerstrale, Super Evil Megacorp creates games with console-quality graphics, precision controls and social gameplay experiences. Its first game, Vainglory, takes the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena and perfects it for tablets. An early build of the game is live in limited release with a worldwide launch coming in the near future.
