Microsoft Corp. and American Family Insurance are teaming up to launch a business accelerator for startups focused on home automation.
The accelerator provides mentorship, workspace and an experience focused on launching world-class companies. American Family Insurance, a large homeowners’ insurer, will provide industry experience, consumer insights and knowledge as well as a minimum optional $25k equity investment in each startup accepted into the program.
The accelerator, which will be hosted on Microsoft’s campus in Redmond, WA, and conducted September through December, will support startups focused on createing advancements that can help lead to safer and smarter homes.
