Mantis Vision Secures $12.5M Strategic Investment Round

mantisvisionMantis Vision, a Petach Tikva, Israel-based developer of advanced 3D enabling technologies and solutions, secured a $12.5m strategic investment round.

Qualcomm Incorporated, through its venture investment group, Qualcomm Ventures, Flextronics’ (NASDAQ: FLEX) hardware venture arm, Lab IX; Sunny Optical Technology Co., and Samsung, made the investment.

This technology enables manufacturers to develop 3D-enabled mobile devices coupled with APIs and SDKs to help developers build consumer-facing applications on top of the MV4D platform.
The company’s consumer-oriented product offering includes a range of peripheral and embedded UG3D devices. Its first product to enter the market was the F5 Handheld 3D Scanner, a mobile scanning solution for professional applications, which is used in the medical, industrial, defense, law enforcement, and cultural heritage fields, among others.
